Privacy policy
Last updated 8 October 2026How Asserta (Kigali, Rwanda) handles personal data when you use the Asserta website and app.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, work email, phone number, job title and an optional profile photo.
- Company records you enter: assets, the invoices and photos you attach, categories, approvals and their history.
- Billing details: plan, invoices, receipts and the Mobile Money number you save. Card numbers are entered on Stripe’s page and never reach Asserta.
- Messages to support, call and demo bookings, and the website contact form.
- Sign-in records needed for security, such as failed sign-in attempts.
Why we use it
To provide the service your company signed up for (our contract with it), to keep accounts secure, to bill your company, to answer support requests, and to send the emails and notifications you choose in your notification settings. We don’t sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, MTN MoMo and Airtel Money, only for the payments you make.
- QuickBooks, only if your company connects it, to receive the journals you post.
- The providers that host Asserta and deliver its emails, under contracts that limit them to doing so.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
For as long as your company’s account is open. Suspended accounts keep their data so the company can return. When the owner asks us to close the account, we delete its data, except invoices and receipts we must keep for tax purposes.
Your rights
Under Rwanda’s Law No 058/2021 on the protection of personal data and privacy you can ask to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data, and to receive a copy of it. You can correct your profile yourself in Profile & security; for anything else, write to . You may also complain to Rwanda’s National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA).
